A good cover design can significantly increase the uptake of your book, so using the services of an experienced graphic designer can make a real difference, and pay for itself many times over. The cost of getting a good design will vary according to the complexity of the design you want. Avoiding unnecessary complexity is a win-win strategy. You will have a better design and it will cost less!

We can make suggestions for a design based on the read-throughs we have already done for you, or you can give us your own ideas for cover design. Remember that if you want to offer print versions of your book, you will also need designs for the spine and back cover.

Once the basic design is agreed, we will quote you a price. You will need to pay 10% of this price to see the first draft. Depending on your choices for amendment from the first draft, we reserve the right to adjust the price (up, if you add complexity, or down, if you simplify the design). You can also pull out at this stage, with no further cost to you, if you decide that the style of our graphic artists are just not right for you. The quoted price includes up to three free revisions (not complete re-works), after which we will negotiate with you the cost of any additional revisions.

After final approval and payment of the balance, you will get :

• .PSD file. In case you need to change text or use the design with no text, the .PSD file contains all text in separate layers (but the graphic design itself is flattened to a single layer. (This does not include any special fonts which may have been used, so if you are editing text (as opposed to just removing it), you may need to purchase any fonts if you do not already own them.
• A full-size version (6×9″) for printed posters, swag, etc.
• An ebook version (which is more compressed) for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Amazon and so on.
• Two smaller files sutiable for use on social media sites.

You will also get mockups and proofs as JPEGs or PNG at each revision stage prior to final approval

If you have a book series with similar covers, prices for the second and subsequent book covers may be lower.
